MANUFACTURING
• Screws: stainless steel
• Weatherproofing for aluminium profile joints: 1st quality putty.
• Gluing rod no. 8802 must compulsorily be fixed to the profile it is used with, before
cutting.
• Opening frames are hung on structure mullions. Stainless steel projecting arms for Italian
windows, preventing washing from inside (maximum leaf weight 100 kg, maximum height
1750 mm, maximum width 1600 mm).
• All other frames and panels are fixed by means of kits no. 8917 and 8918, and are
individually removable. Unwanted removal is prevented by a safety device (CHCM5X12
screw + 2 RONDEL5 washers).
• Gluing rod 8802 is used with three types of glazing:
. 24-mm insulating glass certified for structural glazing, with frame profile
8803;
laminated glass, maximum 13 mm, with frame profile 8804;
. 6- or 8-mm tempered sheet glass of various types (enamelled, pot-opal,
clear, tinted,...):
with frame profile 8807 as slightly ventilated cladding in front of concrete
or masonry wall,
with frame profile 8826 as slightly ventilated external lining in front of infill
panel.
• Drainage as shown under headline "GLAZING".
• Each fixed or opening frame is fitted out in the workshop with an EPDM cover
gasket, glued in corners and designed to overlap the adjacent frames’ ones.
JUSTIFICATIONS
For each site, justifications of suitability for the project must be given by the glue
manufacturer and by the glass manufacturer, complying with the locally applicable
standards.
SAFETY DEVICE
All glazed frames, both fixed or opening, must be fitted out with a safety device
preventing glass fall in case of defective bonding (corner piece 8934 or small piece of
profile 8830 pop-riveted at each corner, drilling before gluing).
FIXING
Once the shell is completed, the fixing brackets are put in place. These brackets are fixed
into continuous or discontinuous rails, which have been incorporated into concrete while
casting. The use of expanding bolts is also possible .
The main operations are:
• Joining of structure or raising of ladders, and bolting to brackets.
• Joining of transoms between ladders.
• Fixing of insulating material on concrete.
• Fixing of panels or opaque glazed fixed frames (fixing of safety device preventing
unwanted removal) .
• Fixing of opening frames. This is currently done in the workshop for opening frames
incorporated into ladders.
• Finishings. |
